  1. Online scammers took over $300,000 from New Yorkers in the past year, the Metro New York Better Business Bureau found in a recent report. Retail sales — including those online —also topped the complaints received by NY Attorney General Letitia James' office this year. The second on the list was tenant/landlord complaints. (New York City Patch)
  2. Former President Donald Trump has been invited to testify next week in front of a grand jury as prosecutors grow closer to determining whether to proceed with a criminal case against him over alleged hush money payments made on his behalf during his 2016 presidential campaign. (Associated Press)
  3. The latest generation of subway trains was introduced on the A line this Friday. They feature wider doors, security cameras, and digital screens. (New York City Patch)
  4. A retired former police officer walked away free in a matter of hours after allegedly menacing three teenagers with a gun in Brownsville, Brooklyn, recently obtained footage shows. As THE CITY reports, the footage shows that it appears two NYPD chiefs "intervened" to help the retiree get off the hook. (THE CITY)
  5. A former roommate of Congressman George Santos said that Santos taught him how to skim credit card information from ATM machines and clone cards, which the roommate was later deported to Brazil for doing. Santos denied the allegations in a tweet. (Long Island Press)
