NEW YORK CITY — Surprise, surprise — the neighborhood that got in hot water over a "poor door" is the priciest in New York City.

Hudson Yards grabbed the number one spot on PropertyShark's new "Top 50 Most Expensive Neighborhoods" ranking released Tuesday.

With typical home sales going at $5.75 million, Hudson Yards easily topped the list covering the second quarter of this year.

The other neighborhoods in the top 10 didn't come close, but still had absolutely boggling prices, according to the study.

But the PropertyShark study found a noteworthy trend: sales sped up in 11 of the 50 most expensive neighborhoods while the city's total sales dropped 54 percent.

"The New York City real estate market remained on a cooling trend this quarter, especially when it came to sales," the study states.

Other trends showed SoHo overtake Tribeca as the second-most expensive neighborhood.

Brooklyn also showed the most topsy-turvy sales price changes. It had most three of the five sharpest price gains, as well as three of the five sharpest prices drops.

And perhaps no neighborhood was as noteworthy as Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, which saw sales prices increase 59 percent.

"As a result, the neighborhood surged 27 positions in our ranking ...," the study states.
