NYPD Arrests NY Assemblymember For Disorderly Conduct: Report

NEW YORK CITY — A New York assembly member was arrested and taken into custody on Wednesday after he alleged interfered with a traffic stop.

Eddie Gibbs had been issued a disorderly conduct summons around 1:30 p.m Wednesday, police confirmed to City & State.

The NYPD had stopped a vehicle driven by Gibb's brother near East 115th Street in East Harlem.

Gibbs tried to approach the car, prompting police to tell him to step back multiple times, according to a New York Daily News report.

The assembly member apologized, saying, "the officers did nothing wrong. It was all on my part."

"I interfered with an NYPD stop,” he told the New York Daily News.

Gibbs represents Assembly District 68, which covers parts of Harlem and the Upper East Side.
