NEW YORK CITY — The NYPD evacuated buildings and urged people to avoid an East Harlem street after a pipe bomb was discovered Wednesday afternoon.

Police confirmed to Patch that a device was found at 120 East 119 Street at around 12:23 p.m. and that the NYPD bomb squad responded to the scene and have safely removed the device.

The pipe bomb may have been attached with hairspray bottles, according to posts made on X and the Citizen app.
