NYPD Officer Injured By Friendly Fire Released From NYC Hospital
The detective was shot in the hand and leg.

NEW YORK CITY — An NYPD officer shot by friendly fire while attempting to apprehend a suspect carjacker in Queens was released from a local hospital on Monday.
Det. Corey Fisher, left Jamaica Hospital in Queens after recovering from two gunshot wounds sustained during an attempted carjacking last Friday, police said.
“We are grateful Detective Fisher is going home to his family today, and for the outstanding care he received at Jamaica Hospital,” NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch tweeted.

“Fisher was shot while trying to stop a violent carjacker in Queens – a career criminal who has terrorized victims for nearly a decade.
The suspect may not have pulled the trigger himself, but make no mistake: Detective Fisher was shot because of the violence this man unleashed,"Tisch added.

Kevin Dubuisson, 28, has since been charged with assault, attempted robbery, grand larceny and menacing.
The 28-year-old faces up to 32 years in prison if convicted.
The incident happened near the Whitestone Expressway and 22nd Road, Patch previously reported.
Police were responding to a 911 call of a reported carjacking and as they attempted to apprehend the suspect, officers fired shots, striking the detective in the hand and leg, according to the NYPD.
