NEW YORK CITY — An NYPD sergeant was found dead after fatally shooting himself inside a car in Queens on Monday night.

Officers found the man dead around 7:20 p.m. on a residential block in Flushing, according to a New York Post report.

The victim is believed to be a 44-year-old police officer who had worked in Queens.

The sergeant’s death comes close to four months after an off-duty NYPD officer, Gregory Purvis shot and killed himself inside an Upper Manhattan apartment in August, Patch previously reported.
