NEW YORK CITY –New York City has finally seen the return of the Met Gala on the first Monday in May. The pandemic paused all plans for fashion's biggest night out, forcing the Metropolitan Museum of Art to reschedule the star-studded event.

This year's exhibit, In America: An Anthology of Fashion, is the second in a two part series on American fashion celebrating the Costume Institute's 75th anniversary. The first part of the exhibit, In America: A Lexicon of Fashion opened this past September.

Celebrities and models climbed the museum stairs, showcasing past and current American designers for the red carpet theme of "Gilded Glamour." Some opted for late 19th century bustles, while others donned more modern couture.
