Police Investigate Dad Of Dead Baby Found In East River: Report

The father of the 8-month-old baby has emerged as a suspect in the infant's death, sources told the Daily News.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — Police are investigating the father of a baby boy who was found floating in the East River Sunday wearing nothing but a diaper, sources told the Daily News.

Investigators are looking into whether the dad dumped the child in the waters near the Brooklyn Bridge after visiting his son. The child's mother contacted police when the dad did not return the boy, spurring the investigation, sources told the News.

Sources told the newspaper that the father apparently fled the country and is on the lamb.
