Poster House and Chelsea Market Present The Anatomy of a Movie Poster: The Work of Dawn Baillie
The Pop-Up Exhibition at Chelsea Market Celebrates the Designer Behind Some of Cinema's Most Iconic Imagery
Poster House, the first museum in the United States dedicated to the global history of posters, announced The Anatomy of a Movie Poster: The Work of Dawn Baillie, a free pop-up exhibition opening at Chelsea Market on November 20, 2025, and running through February 18, 2026. Curated by Poster House Executive Director and Curator Angelina Lippert, the exhibition traces nearly four decades of work by designer Dawn Baillie, whose posters have shaped the visual language of modern film marketing.
Presented in partnership with Chelsea Market, the installation highlights Baillie’s career from junior designer to founding partner of BLT Communications, showcasing the evolution of movie-poster production, from paste-ups and analog methods to the introduction of digital tools. Featuring celebrated campaigns including Dirty Dancing, Silence of the Lambs, and Little Miss Sunshine, the exhibition offers an inside look at how Baillie’s minimalist, concept-driven approach has influenced generations of designers and captivated audiences worldwide.
Open daily during Chelsea Market’s standard hours of operation, the exhibition is free and open to the public. Visitors should plan approximately 30 minutes to experience the installation, which is rated G and is suitable for all ages.
