Suspect Followed Victim Into NYC Apartment Building, Performs Lewd Act

NEW YORK CITY — Police are searching for a man who followed a 38-year-old woman into her Manhattan apartment building last weekend and demanded money before stealing her purse and cellphone.

The incident happened on Sunday, Nov. 17, around 2 a.m., inside a building in the vicinity of West 44 Street and 9 Avenue, police said.

The 38-year-old woman was walking inside in the building when she was approached by the suspect.

After the woman refused to give him money, the unknown man took her purse, cellphone and bank cards, police said.

Before the man fled the scene, he performed a lewd act in front of the victim, police said.

The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.

The wanted individual was last seen wearing a black Nike hat, black jacket with fur on the hood, blue jeans, and black and white sneakers, police said.
