NEW YORK — Corey Johnson isn't a smile-and-wave politician. The New York City Council speaker danced exuberantly down a Park Slope street as he led a contingent of lawmakers in Saturday's Brooklyn Pride parade, video from the event shows.

Johnson, a Chelsea Democrat, boogied to a pulsating beat as other Council representatives carried a banner behind him. At one point he leapt into the air and touched both of his toes in the middle of Fifth Avenue — then resumed dancing as soon as he hit the ground.

The jig wasn't out of step for the openly gay lawmaker, who has shared several videos of himself lip-synching to pop songs and once busted a move during a TV weather segment. But it nonetheless won Johnson praise for how much he seems to love his job as he mulls a run for mayor in 2021.

"This is an elected official. Living. His. Best. Gay. Life," Jared Fox, an LGBTQ community liaison at the city's Department of Education, wrote on Twitter. "Openly and unapologetically gay, HIV positive, and doing a damn toe touch at a pride march."

NY1 even featured the video as the network's Monday "Morning Trend." Anchors Pat Kiernan and Jamie Stelter noted that Johnson also did his signature midair toe-touch at last year's Brooklyn Pride parade.

But Johnson's dancing didn't stop on Saturday evening. He also did a duet with Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. — his possible 2021 rival — at Sunday's Puerto Rican Day Parade.
