NYC Weather: Severe Rain, Thunderstorms To Hit NYC Tonight

NEW YORK CITY — Possible rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit New York City later tonight, with the bad weather potentially returning this weekend, according to forecasters.

Forecasters are predicting there is a 30 percent chance of precipitation after 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon temperatures will reach a high temperature close to 90 degrees with partly sunny skies.

The rain showers are expected to linger Thursday morning during the morning commute before the skies clear up and remain sunny with a high of 84 degrees.

Friday will also be sunny, with temperatures reaching 76 degrees.

Saturday and Sunday, the rain looks poised to return. Saturday has a 50% chance of rain, with showers likely throughout the day.

Sunday has a 60 percent of precipitation, with showers slated to begin after 2 p.m. with a high near 84.

Possible thunderstorms could hit the area before 8 p.m. and could last until 2 a.m.
