Spotted: The Best Street Style From NYFW

New York Fashion Week street style graces the concrete stage Thursday, Feb. 9 through Thursday, Feb. 16.

The fluttering hiss of camera shutters imbues the outskirts of Skylight Clarkson Sq, clusters of photographers, reporters and bloggers stretching from West Houston Street to the Spring Street periphery. A callithump of taxi cabs and luxury cars line the entrance to West Soho's coveted venue as men and women —clad in fashions that transcend time and trends — enter and exit with seamless continuance. The distinction between model and spectator is blurred. This is New York Fashion Week.

But while audience members inside the event contemplate the collections of household names, from Istanbul's Hakan Akkaya to the Big Apple's own Cushnie Et Ochs, the blood and bones of the experience lie beyond the Washington Street studio: NYFW street style. Patch has curated a list of the most eye-catching street style stars in honor of the weeklong extravaganza that extends until Thursday, Feb. 16.

Vancouver model David Chiang was the first Asian male model to walk the runway for Dior Homme in 2011, and here, he sports a singular spring trend: an ombré of glowing, sunset hues, cascading over the shoulders of a fitted, leather jacket.

Danielle James, style and beauty editor of HelloBeautiful.com, shows off her fur-ocious side, a flowing, hooded coat complemented with clubmaster sunglasses alongside fields of lace and crochet.

New York City's melting-pot sentiment is manifested in a sweatshirt coupling with ankle-length pleating. Beaded fringes trail the maverick's arms, a silver, plated pouch circling her hip and her crown draped in ebony.
