NEW YORK CITY — Police are searching for an unidentified man who reportedly slashed a woman with a box cutter inside a Manhattan subway station earlier this week.
The incident happened on Monday around 6:15 p.m. inside the 86th Street subway station on the Upper East Side.
A 28-year-old woman was approached by the suspect, who slashed her on the left cheek and right eyebrow with a box cutter, police said.

The woman was transported to New York-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition.
The suspect fled out of the station on foot.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect on Thursday.
A motive behind the attack is unclear at this time.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
