Target, CVS, Fairway: NYC Stores That Are Open On Thanksgiving

NEW YORK, NY – We’ve all been there. It’s Thanksgiving morning, the oven is warm, the turkey is stuffed and the gravy... is still in the store.

Don’t fret, you’re not alone. Few things seem to be able to unite Americans these days, but one is the overwhelming feeling of woe when you realize a key ingredient for that perfect Thanksgiving feast never made it into the shopping cart.

Fortunately, many grocery stores in New York City will remain open on “Turkey Day,” at least for a while. Here we’ve rounded them up for you.

Please note these times are generalized. You should check with your local store for exact opening and closing hours.

Stores That Will Open On Thanksgiving:

Groceries:

• ALDI: All stores are closed on Thanksgiving.
• Fairway Market: Stores will be open during regular hours.
• Fresh Direct: Open regular hours, but the order deadline for delivery dates from Monday, through Thursday is earlier than usual.
• Key Foods: Stores will be open during regular hours.
• ShopRite Supermarkets: New York stores will be open on Thanksgiving.
• Trader Joe's: All stores closed on Thanksgiving.
• Whole Foods: Hours: 7 am-4 pm on Thanksgiving.

Pharmacies:

• Duane Reade: Stores open on Thanksgiving Day.
• Walgreens: Stores open on Thanksgiving Day.
• CVS: Stores open on Thanksgiving Day.
• Rite Aid: Some stores open Thanksgiving Day.

Department Stores:

• Target: Stores open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving and close at 1 a.m.; stores re-open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday.
• Macy's: As a precursor to Black Friday, Macy's will be open from 5 p.m. Thursday to 2 a.m. Friday.
• Bloomingdales: Closed on Thanksgiving.
