Teen Killed, Another Injured In NYC Dirt Bike Crash: NYPD

The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at Jacobi Hospital.

NEW YORK CITY — A teenager was killed, and one other was left injured, when their dirt bike collided with a minivan in New York City on Monday.

Juan Alexander Quizhpi Naranjo, 17, was driving a dirt bike north on Metcalf Avenue in the Bronx with a 14-year-old passenger around 6:45 p.m. when they crashed into a Honda Odyssey that was heading east on East 172nd Street, police said.

Both teens were thrown from the dirt bike and sustained trauma to the body, police said.

They were both transported to Jacobi Hospital. The 17-year-old was later pronounced dead, and the teen girl was listed in stable condition.

The driver of the minivan stayed at the scene and has not been charged.
