Teen Killed, Another Injured In NYC Stabbing Attack, Police Say
Two teenage boys were stabbed inside a Bronx playground Tuesday night, leaving one dead and the other hospitalized.

NEW YORK CITY — Two teenage boys were stabbed at a Bronx playground late Tuesday night, leaving one dead and the other hospitalized, police said.
Police said the brutal attack occurred around 7:30 p.m. at Williamsbridge Oval Playground, off Bainbridge Avenue. Responding officers found 14-year-old Angel Mendoza with multiple stab wounds across his body and a 17-year-old boy—whose name has not been released—suffering from a stab wound to the stomach.
Mendoza was immediately rushed by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead by hospital staff.

According to an NYPD spokesperson, the 17-year-old was taken to Montefiore Medical Center by private means and is currently in stable condition.
Police said they are searching for multiple suspects and believe the stabbing may have started as a fight, though the exact motive remains unclear. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
