Teenager Shoots And Kills Bronx Man In Front Of Cops: NYPD

A teenager shot and killed a 29-year-old man outside a courthouse in the Bronx, according to authorities.

NEW YORK CITY – A 15-year-old teenage boy shot and killed a 29-year-old Bronx man, Jerron Grant, within sight of cops assigned to a footpost on East 161st Street and Morris Avenue, just steps away from the Bronx County Hall Of Justice – the borough’s courthouse.

On Wednesday, Nov. 27, at about 2:40 p.m., cops witnessed the 15-year-old fire a gun multiple times at Grant, striking him once in the chest.

Although emergency responders transported Grant to Lincoln Hospital, they were unable to save him and he succumbed to his injuries.

Officers who saw the shooting chased the suspect to East 156th Street and Courtlandt Avenue – about half a mile away – where they took him into custody, according to officials. A firearm was recovered at the scene, police said.

The 15-year-old teenage boy was charged with murder in the second degree, manslaughter in the first degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
