These NYC Colleges Ranked Among Best In The Nation
Four Big Apple institutions fell in the top 100 on WalletHub's ranking of more than 1,000 schools across the country. Here's where they are.

NEW YORK — These schools are at the top of their class. Four New York City colleges have been named among the best in the United States on a new ranking of more than 1,000 American institutions.
The Big Apple schools fell in the top 100 on WalletHub's list of America's best colleges and universities published Monday. The personal finance website's ranking is based on 33 metrics of student selectivity, cost, career outcomes and other factors.
Columbia University earned the city's highest ranking at 12th in the nation and No. 1 in New York State. The five boroughs' representative to the Ivy League is the nation's ninth-most selective school and also one of its most expensive, according to WalletHub.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology claimed the honor of the nation's top school with the No. 1 career outcomes ranking and the No. 2 spot for selectivity. It's followed by Harvard, Yale and Princeton and Stanford University rounding out the top five.
WalletHub compiled its ranking using data from the U.S. Department of Education and the National Center for Education Statistics. It accounted for metrics such as admission rates, student loans issued to new students, the student-to-faculty ratio and the graduation rate.
