Times Square 2026: The Countdown Begins as the Wishing Wall Returns

NEW YORK CITY — The "Crossroads of the World" is officially gearing up for its most iconic night. As December 31, 2025, approaches, Times Square is transforming into the global epicenter of hope and celebration. While the 12,000-pound Waterford Crystal ball is prepared for its 60-second descent, a more personal tradition is already underway: the New Year’s Eve Wishing Wall.How to Send Your Message into the SkyThe Wishing Wall offers a unique chance for your personal dreams to become part of the spectacle.
Every wish submitted is printed onto a piece of official confetti that will be part of the 3,000 pounds of "wishfetti" released from the rooftops of Times Square at midnight.In-Person: Visit the mobile Wishing Wall located on the Broadway Plazas between 45th and 47th Streets. It is open daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM through December 29 (closed Christmas Day).
If you can't make it to Manhattan, you can submit your wish online at the official Times Square website or via social media using the hashtag #ConfettiWish.Deadline: To ensure your wish is printed for this year's celebration, submit it online by December 28. Digital wishes sent after this date will be saved for the 2026-2027 celebration.
