Two Construction Workers Trapped In Bronx Building Collapse: FDNY
The two men are in serious but stable condition after a concrete ceiling fell on them Thursday, authorities said.

NEW YORK CITY — Two construction workers were trapped under a massive chunk of concrete ceiling that fell on them in a Bronx building collapse, authorities said.
The two men were in serious, but stable condition after FDNY firefighters and EMS rescued them building Thursday afternoon, said Deputy Chief Kenneth Scanlon.
The collapse unfolded about 11 a.m. inside a building under construction in Orchard Beach, officials said.

"It happened on the top floor where the construction workers were working," Scanlon said. "Luckily, they had helmets on."
Officials didn't give details on what triggered the collapse, but Scanlon said a piece of concrete ceiling about 20 feet long by 15 feet wide fell on the workers.
