NEW YORK CITY — West Nile virus has been found in mosquitoes in all five boroughs of New York City, according to the NYC Department of Health.

There are no positive cases of West Nile in humans yet, according to health officials.

Queens has the most reported cases with 177, followed by Staten Island with 119, the Bronx with 93, Brooklyn with 47 and Manhattan with 12, according to DOH data.

West Nile virus infections could lead to symptoms like high fever, headaches, and neck stiffness. In extreme cases, people can experience vision loss or paralysis.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends using mosquito repellent, wearing shoes, long socks and clothing.

West Nile typically peaks during August and September, officials said.
