Woman Fatally Shot In Head Near Union Square, Cops Say
A search is underway for a man police believe shot and killed a 25-year-old woman early Thursday, authorities said.
NEW YORK CITY — A young woman was fatally shot in the head near Union Square Thursday morning by a gunman who remains on the loose, police said.
Police found the 25-year-old woman near the corner of East 14th Street and Irving Place about 5 a.m. after receiving a 911 call, the NYPD said.
Medics pronounced the woman deceased at the scene, authorities said.

A search was underway for the suspect, whom police as a heavyset man in black clothing and a mask, according to the NYPD.
