NYC Woman Killed By Solar Panel That Flew Off Roof During Nor'easter

The woman has not been officially identified yet.

NEW YORK CITY — A 76-year-old woman was struck and killed by a solar panel that flew off a carport in Brooklyn during a Nor'easter in New York City, Department of Building inspectors ruled on Monday.

The incident happened at 3100 Ocean Parkway around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

According to investigators, the solar panel flew off the carport and about 20 feet through the air before fatally striking the woman in the head.

The 76-year-old was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where she was later pronounced dead.
