Woman Found Dead Floating Near NYC Pier, Police Say

NEW YORK CITY — A woman was found dead floating in the East River near the Brooklyn Bridge on Tuesday, police said.

The FDNY and the NYPD’s Harbor Unit found the woman floating in the water near Pier 17 in Lower Manhattan around 2:30 p.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known at this time how the woman ended up in the water.

The woman's identity has not been released yet. An investigation remains ongoing.
