2 Arrested After Drug Task Force Seizes 'White Chunky Substance' Containing Cocaine, Cash: DA

A 37-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested at their Haverstraw home after a probe into narcotic sales in Rockland County.

TOWN OF HAVERSTRAW, NY — A drug bust at a Rockland County home has led to two felony arrests, according to law enforcement.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh, II announced the results of an investigation conducted by the Rockland County District Attorney's Office Drug Task Force into narcotics sales in Rockland County.

On Thursday, a search warrant was executed by members of law enforcement on a home in the Town of Haverstraw. Officers found a "white chunky substance," weighing more than one-half ounce and containing cocaine, which was then seized as evidence, along with $2306.00 in cash.

The DA's office say that both occupants of the home, 37-year-old Victor Esteban and 34-year-old Yohelina Camilo, were arrested and each charged with two felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The charges are not qualifying bail offenses, according to the DA's office, and they were released on their own recognizance after arraignment in the Town of Haverstraw Court.

The case was investigated by the Rockland County DA's Office Drug Task Force with assistance from the Haverstraw Police Department and the Rockland County REACT team.
