2 Men Arrested For Terroristic Threat At Walmart: Police

Witnesses told police the pair entered the Airmont store and said they had a bomb. They were released without bail with a future court date.

VILLAGE OF AIRMONT, NY — A tense scene at a Hudson Valley retailer this weekend has resulted in two suspects being arrested on Wednesday.

The Ramapo Police Department says that it received a report of a bomb threat on Sunday, at the Walmart located in the Village of Airmont.

Witnesses told police that two men had entered the store and said that they had a bomb. They left the store before police arrived.

The building was quickly evacuated and law enforcement agencies from surrounding agencies responded to the scene. After a search of the building by K9s specializing in explosive detection, no explosive was found.

The Ramapo Police Investigations Division then conducted an investigation and was able to identify the two suspects.

On Wednesday, 21-year-old Francky Charles, of Spring Valley, and 22-year-old Roosevelt Depas, of Nyack, were placed under arrest.

Both suspects were charged with felony making a terroristic threat. They were arraigned before the Village of Airmont and released without bail with a future court date scheduled.

Ramapo police were assisted in the investigation by their officers assigned to the FBI Task Force, the NYS Intelligence Center, the Rockland County Intelligence Center, the Rockland County Crime Analysis Center, the Rockland County Sheriff Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Rockland County Sheriff Office K9 Unit, and the Town of Clarkstown Police Department K9 Unit.
