2 Men Hit with Drug Charges After Being Stopped by State Troopers

Two New York City men were arrested Wednesday on the New York State Thruway in Clarkstown on a variety of drug charges, according to State Police.

Police said they stopped Norberto Ruiz, 29, of Manhatan, and Carlos J. Jimenez, 19, of the Bronx on the Thruway northbound at 1:15 p.m. After an investigation, both men were arrested.

Ruiz is accused of with four felony counts including possession of narcotics and tampering with evidence, in addition to driving with his ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Jimenez is accused of two felony drug possession charges and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

Police said both men were being held pending a Town Court hearing in New City.
