Rockland Tourism is using I Love NY Matching funds to sponsor a New York metropolitan area radio show on the First Annual Rockland Farm Tour. On Friday morning, Rockland Tourism and Local Development will sponsor WPLJ radio’s Morning Blastoff between 5:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m with Scott and Todd featuring the first annual Rockland Farm Tour.
The Rockland Farm Tour, which takes place Sunday, includes some of the oldest working farms in New York State, preserved in large part by County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef's Open Space Acquisition initiative of 2000.
The self-guided Farm Tour, sponsored by the Rockland Farm Alliance, will be held Sunday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, starting at Cropsey Community Farm in New City. The full day of children’s activities include agricultural events, scarecrow making and fun and educational activities for the whole family.
Admission to the Farm Tour costs $20 per carload and $10 per bicycle. For more information, visit
