Car Ends Up on Lawn of New City Home after Crash

No one injured as vehicle stops just short of hitting Congers Road home.

A car involved in a two-vehicle accident on Congers Road Monday evening ended up on the lawn of a New City home and stopped just short of hitting the house, according to New City volunteer firefighters.

No one was hurt in the 6:59 p.m. incident, which slowed evening traffic on Congers Road as police, New City Fire Department members and members of the New City Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Corps investigated the crash.

New City Fire Chief Artie Kuntz Jr. said a car traveling on Congers Road and another car coming from Primrose Lane collided, sending a Kia Sorrento onto the lawn of the home at 110 Congers Road. The Kia hit a tree and some bushes in front of the home, but stopped just inches short of the house. The car also managed to miss a stone landscaping wall in the front yard.
