Carlucci Files Petitions Needed for State Senate Race

Petitions would put him on Democratic and Working Families lines in the November election.

Clarkstown Town Clerk David Carlucci has submitted signed petitions needed to get on the November ballot in the race for the 38th District state Senate seat that was held by the late Sen. Thomas Morahan, R-New City.

Carlucci, and New City Democrat, candidate for the New York State Senate in the 38th District, submitted to the Board of Elections petitions that totaled 4,700 signatures for the Democratic Party - more than four times the required number of 1,000.

He also submitted Working Families Party signatures that also exceeded four times the necessary number with 120.

"I am extremely grateful for the hard work put in by the volunteers and staff who collected this large number of signatures," said Carlucci. "The strong support shows that people are responding to our message of reform. They are fed up with business as usual and want our legislature to finally end the dysfunction, tackle our sky-rocketing property taxes and create more jobs in the district."

The 38th District covers all of Rockland and part of Orange counties. Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef is the Republican Party's candidate for the Senate race.
