Clarkstown Board of Education President Joe Malgieri reacted strongly to the fatal shootings at an elementary school in Newtown, CT about 60 miles northeast of New City. "(It's) A devastating loss for that community and our hearts go out to them," he said. Malgieri said, "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and the community during this horrible tragedy. The school should be a safe place for our kids and an incident like this should not be happening in an elementary school."
