Clarkstown Parents Donate Books, 'Smart Boards' to Schools
North H.S. senior and parents thank teachers for helping him overcome obstacles.

The Clarkstown school board, still riding high from the overwhelming voter support it got with the school budget in May, Monday night thanked parents again for their support - this time for donations to support two schools.
The parents of graduating Clarkstown North High School senior Francis Nimick, Anne and Thomas Nimick, have donated $2,000 for the purchase of books for the North High School library. The Nimicks said their donation was their way of saying "thanks" to teachers who have helped their son overcome obstacles he faced during his education.
Additionally, the New City Elementary School PTA has donated two "Smart Boards" for use at New City. This donation comes just a week after the Clarkstown Education Foundation awarded grants to several Clarkstown teachers to pay for the costs of installing Smart Boards in their classrooms.
