
The Clarkstown Stars Elite 11U baseball team played in the American Amateur Baseball Congress World Series (AABC) in Brooklyn and finished the tournament as the runner up.
from July 26 to July 29th, The Stars competed in the tournament and wound up losing to the Connecticut Yard Dogs in the championship game after finishing the World Series with a 5-2 record.
The Stars dropped their first World Series game to Brooklyn Youth Services 5-2. Then the Stars went on to win their next five games by beating the Brooklyn Bonnies 17-4, Connecticut Hurricanes 12-5, Michigan River Dawgs 11-3 and the undefeated Connecticut Yard Dogs 16-9. The winning streak qualified the Stars to play in the Championship Game against the Connecticut Yard Dogs.

Parent Paul Kahn provided a description of the Clarkstown All Star’s appearance at the competition.
The Stars fell to the Yard Dogs 9-5 in a seven-inning championship game. The Yard Dogs jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. The Stars answered by pushing across two runs in both the first and the third innings. In the first inning, the Stars scored on a two-run home run by Zachary Kahn.

In the third inning, the Stars scored on a solo home run by Michael Iodice and an RBI single by Kevin Rogers, scoring Max Viera, who went 4-4 in the game. The Stars tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Miles Massay put the ball in play scoring Ben Partridge, who had singled earlier in the inning. The game was tied 5-5 until the sixth inning when the Yard Dogs scored one run. The Yard Dogs built up their lead with three runs in the top of the seventh inning.
During the World Series, the Stars played seven games in four days. They outscored the opposition 67 to 37. Nine Stars players hit 12 home runs: Kahn with three, Iodice, Viera, and Liam Hehir each with two, Michael Andretta, Massay, and Partridge each with one. Viera won the batting title for having the best batting average of all players in the tournament, by batting over 650.
The World Series ran from July 26 to July 29 and included 12 teams from New York, Michigan, Illinois, Connecticut, and New Jersey. All teams playing in the tournament had to qualify to play, which the Clarkstown team accomplished by winning the Federation Tournament in Sloatsburg on July 20.
Massay, Liam Hehir, Brian Paroff, Iodice, and Partridge all gave strong pitching performances. The pitchers were supported by the excellent defense of Rogers behind the plate. Pat DeFeciani was great at first base. Thomas Quinn, Matty Siligato and Rich Fortunato were flawless in the outfield. The team roster has players from Nanuet, New City, Orangetown, Ramapo, Stony Point and Greenwood Lake. Mike Partridge is the team’s manager.
