NEW CITY, NY — Registered voters in the town of Clarkstown had a few decisions to make Tuesday at the ballot box.

In the race for supervisor, incumbent Town Supervisor George Hoehmann was apparently granted a third term, according to unofficial results from the Rockland County Board of Elections.

As of 11:52 p.m., the BOE posted results showing 10,003 votes for Sweet to Hoehmann's 11,476.

Hoehmann had overcome legal obstacles to have the town's term limits law overturned so that he could run again. He challenged it in court with co-plaintiffs Councilman Donald Franchino and resident Tom Foley. It was opposed by Councilmen Frank Borelli and Patrick Carroll. Borelli, who had served two terms, did not seek re-election after Hoehmann, Franchino and Mike Graziano voted to redraw the ward maps and moved him into Carroll's district.
