Congers Woman Killed In New City 1-Car Crash
Police said a Jeep Cherokee had crashed into a tree, causing significant damage.
NEW CITY, NY — A one-car crash in New City led to the death of a Congers woman Sunday.
The Clarkstown Police Department said the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Sunday on Congers Road near Conrad Lane in New City.
Police said responding officers found a dark-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee that had sustained significant front-end damage from striking a tree.

The driver was unconscious, police said, and officers removed her from the vehicle and immediately began performing CPR.
New City Ambulance and Rockland Paramedics took over when they arrived. They transported the woman to Montefiore Nyack Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities said the woman was identified as Rosanne Firenze, 71, of Congers.
There has been no determination as to what may have cause the accident, police said.
Congers Road was closed for several hours.
