Cop Chase Of Driver Using Cell Phone Ends In Felony Charges
He was caught running into his house, police said.
STONY POINT, NY — A Stony Point man faces charges connected to an attempted traffic stop on Sunday.
At 10 a.m., a police officer saw Cristhian Cruz-Rojas, 41, talking on his cell phone while operating a vehicle on North Liberty Drive.
An attempt to stop the vehicle failed, as Cruz-Rojas refused to pull over and continued to drive home — which, police said, was approximately two miles away. Once there, he tried to run into the house, but after a brief struggle the officer was able to place him under arrest.
