Crash Deaths Resulted From Multiple Fractures

Rockland County Medical Examiner released report on the cause of the fatalities in Sunday night's car accident

 

The Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Office reported the deaths of on Sunday night were the result of multiple fractures and other injuries caused when their vehicle hit a street sign, house and tree on Strawtown Road in New City.

The medical examiner’s office performed an autopsy on Kolnrekaj, the passenger. Due to religious beliefs, an autopsy was not performed on Ljesnjanin, the driver. According to the medical examiner’s statement released Monday, “the manner of deaths was ruled as an accident.”

Toxicology tests for drugs and alcohol for both victims are pending and results are not expected for several weeks.  The Clarkstown Police Accident Investigation Team is investigating the cause and circumstances of the fatal accident, which occurred about 11:25 p.m. on Sunday near the intersection of Strawtown Road and Cairnsmuir Lane. The car, a 2007 Nissan Altima, was broken into two parts.
