Crash On Route 17 Kills 32-Year Old Pedestrian

Ramapo police are investigating.

RAMAPO, NY — A crash at 11:45 p.m. Monday on Route 17 killed a young Rockland man, Ramapo police said.

Called to the scene, officers talked to a Sloatsburg man who had been driving his pickup truck north on Route 17 when he hit a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 32-year-old Sloatsburg resident, was declared dead at the scene, police said.

The driver, 62, was in a 2008 Ford F150.

The Ramapo Police Department called in its Crash Investigation Unit.
