Clarkstown South High School student-athletes getting set to play in a new season of scholastic sports can check in with the school nurse for medical clearances starting Aug. 18. All athletes must be medically cleared before they are allowed to participate in a try out or practice, according to the Clarkstown Central School District. Clearances are available Aug. 18, 19 and 24 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., and on Aug. 20 and 23 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Football starts practice Aug. 20 at 7:15 a.m. All other sports start practice Aug. 23 at 8 a.m., except for boys volleyball at 9 a.m., girls swimming at 8:30 a.m., girls volleyball at 9:30 a.m. and cheerleading at 6 p.m.
