Drive-By Shooting Probe: 2 Arrested For Attempted Murder
A Yonkers 22-y.o. and a Newburgh 19-y.o. were arrested in the investigation into shots fired from a car in Ramapo earlier this week.
RAMAPO, NY — Charges have been filed in connection to an investigation into early morning gunshots fired from a moving car.
On Monday, shortly after midnight, the Ramapo Police Department responded to East Eckerson Road in the Town of Ramapo for the report of gunshots fired. Officers at the scene recovered evidence that at least nine shots were fired from a passing vehicle.
No victims were reported to have been struck and no one was wounded, according to police.

Two suspects have been arrested. A 22-year-old Yonkers man and a 19-year-old Newburgh man were charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and conspiracy. They were each arraigned in the Town of Ramapo Court.
The investigation is still ongoing, according to Ramapo police. The Ramapo Police Department was assisted on scene by the Rockland County Sheriff's Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Anyone with information about the early morning gun violence is asked to contact the Ramapo Police Department Investigations Division at 845-357-2400. All information will be kept confidential and can be made anonymously, according to police. Information can also be provided through the TIPS 411 platform. Rockland County residents can submit a tip via text message by texting the keyword "ROCKLANDCODA" and then their tip and sending it to 847411.
