Joint fiscal improvement task force meets Monday on quarterly update from Rockland Finance Department

The Joint Legislative Executive Task Force on Fiscal Management meets Monday at 5 p.m., the first time since October. Its members will review the quarterly update from the Rockland County Finance Department.
The entire legislature convenes on Tuesday at 7 p.m. to once again vote on resolutions asking the state legislature to pass its Home Rule requests to issue bonds to cover the county deficit and to amend the tax law for additional sales and compensating use taxes.

Additionally legislators will reconsider the resolutions for the Memorandum of Agreement for the 2013 Targeted Voluntary Separation Incentive Program. Memorandums of Agreement were reached between the county and the Rockland Association of Management (RAM), non-union salaried management that follows RAM, the CSEA and non-union non-management employees. The resolutions were sent back to committee for review and revision last month and will be re-introduced at the meeting.
Legislators will vote on accepting a state grant of $72,000 for Stop DWI enforcement from Oct. 1, 2012 through Sept. 30, 2013. They will vote on a series of bonding resolutions for a variety of projects including the Fire Training Center, Rockland Community College and improvements to county government buildings. Also, bids for replacement of the Waldron Terrace Bridge and repair of the Samsondale Avenue Bridge will be voted on.

A resolution asking the state legislature to pass a bill establishing a Comprehensive Statewide Asthma Management & Control Program to coordinate health services will be introduced.
