Gas Main Struck In New City

Contractor hit gas main on Christopher Drive in New City just before 10 a.m.

 

A contractor working for Orange & Rockland hit a two inch gas main at 38 Christopher Drive this morning.  No injuries were reported and there was no damage but two customers lost service. Repairs were completed at 3:10 p.m.

O&R Spokesman Mike Donovan said the utility received the call at 9:53 a.m. and the main was turned off by 11:16 a.m.  Gas servicemen were sent to restore service to the two affected customers.
