NEW CITY, NY — A former Rockland corrections officer who exposed himself in front of a female inmate will face justice for his actions.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced on Thursday that former Rockland Corrections Officer John Kezek, 39, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Florida, New York, was sentenced after entering a plea of guilty to tampering with public records in the first degree and official misconduct earlier this month.

"As a Corrections Officer, the defendant, John Kezek, was given the trust and authority to protect all prisoners in the jail," Walsh said. "The courage of these incarcerated women who came forward to report this sexual harassment cannot be understated. The mistreatment of prisoners will not be tolerated in Rockland County. I want to reiterate to the residents of Rockland that the men and women of the Rockland County Corrections Division are true professionals. The actions of this individual, John Kezek, in no way reflects the values and dedication shown everyday by those officers."
