Legislative Committees Assigned Departments For Operational Review
Rockland legislative chair instructed committees to submit departmental recommendations by June 7

Rockland County Legislature Chairwoman Harriet Cornell issued her instructions on Monday to Legislature Committee chairs to complete reviews of county department functions and programs. Each of the seven committees received four or five departments to analyze for possible consolidation with other departments or different levels of government.
Additionally she directed them to prepare reports with recommendations and submit them by June 7. The reports will be used in conjunction with the county executive’s mid-year Financial Improvement Plan, also due in June.

“These reviews should be done with an eye to possible consolidation of functions across department lines and even with other levels of government, if appropriate,” Cornell instructed. “You will want to understand revenue streams, as well as costs and analyze the impact of our reduced workforce on greater overtime costs.”
Cornell made the following committee review assignments.
