Local Governments Join Efforts to Boost Blood Donations

Drive held at Town Hall in New City, another drive set for next week in Pomona.

In an effort to boost blood supplies, the Town of Clarkstown sponsored a blood drive Friday and Rockland County is sponsoring one next week at the county health complex.

Friday's drive took place at Town Hall in New City. Rockland County is set to hold a blood drive on Wednesday, June 16, at the Dr. Robert L. Yeager Health
Center, Building A, Exhibition Hall in Pomona beginning at 8 a.m. and running until 4 p.m.

"We encourage county employees and residents, who are able to do so,
to donate blood," County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef said.
"Especially during the summer months when people are on
vacation."

Breakfast, lunch and dessert will be served to those who donate.
