Macy's Cashier Accused in $1,200 Theft

22-year-old charged with grand larceny.

A cashier at the Macy's department store at the Nanuet Mall has been charged in connection with the theft of $1,200 worth of cash and merchandise from the store, according to Clarkstown police.

Claudel Ferdinand, 22, of New Hempstead was arrested Wednesday after an investigation into thefts that took place from July 14 to 31, police said. Ferdinand is charged with grand larceny, a felony.

Ferdinand was released pending a hearing on Aug. 16 in Clarkstown Town Court in New City.
