New City Man, 19, Accused in Stalking Incident

New City woman, 18, spotted shadowy figure in her yard.

A 19-year-old New City man is being held for arraignment at Clarkstown police headquarters in New City this morning on charges of stalking an 18-year-old woman he know from high school, according to police.

Police said the young woman called police about 9:30 p.m. when she spotted someone in the yard of her New City home. When police officers arrived at the house, they discovered the 19-year-old on the property and he admitted that he was stalking the woman, Sergeant Harry Buaumann said.

The man, whose name was not released by police, is accused of stalking, a misdemeanor, trespassing and harassment. He was expected to be arraigned this morning in Clarkstown Town Court in New City.

The woman was not injured in the incident and Baumann said there did not appear to be any previous incidents involving the 19-year-old man.
