
Bowhunters getting ready for a new season can take advantage of a two-session safety class at Clarkstown Town Hall.
Stan Pascoo, president of the Sportsman's Federation of Rockland County and an instructor for the state Department of Environmental Conservation, is set to hold the Bowhunter Safety Class at the Clarkstown Town Hall, 10 Maple Ave., New City, from 7 to 11 p.m., on Thursday in room 301, according to Town Clerk David Carlucci. A second class will be held at a location to be announced on Aug. 22, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Attendance is mandatory at both classes to complete the safety course. Participants need to bring a pen and paper.

Bowhunting licenses are issued through the Town Clerk's office. To obtain a license, hunters must show proof they have completed a safety class. Additional information about the courses is on the DEC's web site.
