Pedestrian Killed In Palisades Collision Is Identified As 70-Year-Old NJ Woman

The pedestrian in the traffic lane was hit by one vehicle, sending her flying into the path of another car which also struck her, cops said.

CLARKSTOWN, NY — Authorities have identified the victim of a deadly collision on the Palisades Parkway in Rockland County.

The victim has been identified as 70-year-old Minette Brown, of New Jersey.

Police are still investigating the circumstances behind the tragedy on the Hudson Valley parkway.

On Saturday, just after 6 p.m., troopers from the New York State Police Haverstraw barracks were called to a report of a woman in the roadway on the Palisades Parkway northbound, near Exit 9 in Clarkstown.

Investigators say that Brown was in the driving lane when she was struck by a 2013 Honda Odyssey, sending her flying into the passing lane. She was then struck by a passing 2014 Mini Cooper.

Brown received lifesaving measures at the scene and was rushed to Nyack Hospital with serious injuries. She was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the New York State Police Haverstraw Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-344-5300.
